What Exactly Does Reboot.Pro Focus On?
I've always been a bit confused by that. I mean, on one hand they seem to focus (obviously) on booting. However, they seem to have a lot more than just that going on there. I don't see a lot to do with programming or general Windows topics.
I always seem to have trouble posting there because almost everything seems so far off from what I generally tend to focus on. Plus the layout is a lot different from anything I'm used to.

RE: What Exactly Does Reboot.Pro Focus On?
Windows Booting is their main topic, most mainly around WinBuilder which NunoBrito had developed. They use IPB, but lots of developers there develop their own tools or the script developers make contributions to WinBuilder.
They used to be known as "Boot Land" instead of "Reboot" way back. I'm surprised some of the members there though are not MVP's as they have some amazingly smart members. Joakim was a member alone that had figured out how to shrink the boot.sdi down from 3MB to 300KB. That's just one of many things he's done as well as a member named jaclaz ![]() Microsoft MVP .NET Programming - (2012 - Present) ®Crestron DMC-T Certified Automation Programmer Development Site: aceinfinity.net |

RE: What Exactly Does Reboot.Pro Focus On?
A few years ago we started as a place to discuss different ways of booting computers, modding Windows and creating boot disks.
Some of these developments were taken to extreme, not just my own works but the works of many developers that kept changing the way how things work when you press the power button on the computer. So, many of these talks might seem strange but they would make more sense if you were working as a tech guy and had to fix a ton of computers at each day..

I understand quite a bit of the stuff, there's it's just my unfamiliarity with Windows Booting itself that puts me off from most of what goes on there, but I do check in once in a while to see the interesting discussions going on and the challenges started, as well as some of the older tutorials. ![]() Microsoft MVP .NET Programming - (2012 - Present) ®Crestron DMC-T Certified Automation Programmer Development Site: aceinfinity.net |

If you notice minutely, jaclaz was the second member who joined former boot-land. Behind the alias of jaclaz, was_jaclaz & Wonko The Sane - this guy has thousands of knowledge packed, yet humorous posts scattered across reboot, 911CD & MSFN. Personally I am doubtful whether I can ever reach to that level of knowledge what this personal poses. So corrrecting the name is my little effort to show some amount of respect towards the name as well as the person. It was not anyway sarcastic. Hope you will understand. :) ProtectData SessionChange Team Reboot Challenge site |

I completely understand, as I already had much respect for the guy from a while back as well seeing what he can do. So you and me are on that same page. Although you might not reach his level of knowledge, you still can't be doubtful, because you never know. Just look to aim to learn what he has, and work your way up the chain :) It's what I try to do, I don't compare myself to others, but I learn what others can provide for me, and think of it as an opportunity and advantage to be able to learn from others who already possess that kind of knowledge. I have the utmost respect for LOTS of people on Reboot to be honest, as well as most forums i've been to. I can respect quite a few people for who they are, whether they posses great knowledge, or are just good people, there's not many that I can't get along with and have a bit of respect for to be honest. Even yourself, I have an amount of respect for, as you seem to have good leadership qualities, and dedication for whatever you're involved in. I find qualities like that and pinpoint them in most people to try and get to know them a little better. ![]() (And also Nuno Brito haha, as without him, I probably would have never founded members like you, jaclaz, or joakim. And I definitely wouldn't have met Nuno Brito either if I didn't find Reboot, which was because of him in the first place anyway) I find the littlest reasons to respect just about anybody. :) I'm patiently looking forward to his response on this project as well that you spoke about in another thread on TLF recently. ![]() Microsoft MVP .NET Programming - (2012 - Present) ®Crestron DMC-T Certified Automation Programmer Development Site: aceinfinity.net |

That shouldn't be too much to wait I guess though, as I know what a busy schedule feels like lol. It's about prioritization and time management. He'll respond in time when he gets the opportune moment to do so :) I have patience, but curious to see what his thoughts were when he first publicized this project out on Reboot. ![]() Microsoft MVP .NET Programming - (2012 - Present) ®Crestron DMC-T Certified Automation Programmer Development Site: aceinfinity.net |
