Favorite Linux Distro?
What are your favorite version(s) of Linux?

Personally, I love Mint and will probably install it again soon(Thanks Ace for telling me about it, a long time ago :P)

RE: Favorite Linux Distro?
I would have to say Mint, as it's the absolute easiest for a Windows user to accustom to. Other than Ubuntu, but I think it's over-hyped about, as it's bulky, and newer versions of Linux although branching off from Ubuntu, have been improved on past what Ubuntu is. There's more support on a distro like Ubuntu, but i've found Mint nice, light, and very customizable for what I wanted to try with Linux.

Arch is also good, but I don't think a beginner Linux user should start out with Arch, as it's definitely something that would take at least a bit of background knowledge of Linux to get used to.

RE: Favorite Linux Distro?
I just reinstalled Mint again on my desktop. I've had it installed before on both my desktop and Laptop. I just took it back off my laptop and put it back on my desktop (I can't make up my mind :P)

I must say, I've missed it. I do prefer it over Ubuntu but they are so close I don't think it matters much.

All Ubuntu derived distros seem to be pretty nice.

All I can say is that I've liked linux ever since my first Live-CD:

I started out with Slackware when you had to download and install 20 floppy disks. I stuck with Slackware for quite a while before moving to the corporate editions of Red Hat and SLES.

Now it really doesn't matter to me, they all are kind of similar.

I still have a soft spot for Solaris though.

I'll have to have a look at Mint.

Nah, it was really annoying. I had to manually create the Xconfig. So I was always worried that I would "smoke" my CRT Monitor.

Actually the really annoying thing was that I would normally get through about 16 or 17 floppies then number 18 or 19 was bad. So I would have to get another floppy disk, format it, put the image back on the disk and start again at disk 1.

Thank God those days are over.

I caught the tail end of the Floppy disk days. I remember using them a little.

I would to say Mint, but I've been using Fedora for quite a while and I began to love it, it really represents the "Explore" philosophy and gives me the feeling of entering unknown areas, an amazing distro....

Ubuntu however, is my number one for portable distor, I have it installed on an 8 GB USB, and use it mostly to clean systems or backup data, of my ignorant firends....

When I was little, my mom would put games upon games on floppy disks for me (bejewled, pacman, etc)
