Monitor Not Detected By Unbuntu
With my new computer, I decided to try Ubuntu again. I put it on a USB and tried running without installing. Everything seems to be okay, except for the fact that my monitor doesn't appear to be detected by Ubuntu. I can even hear sound, but my monitor says "No Signal".

It's a ViewSonic VA702b. Is there any way to get it to work with Ubuntu?

Edit: I found this, but I'm not sure what file it's talking about editing. Or maybe it won't help me at all. I'm not sure.

RE: Monitor Not Detected By Unbuntu
The popular ViewSonic LCD Monitor VA702B is not automatically detected because it is not in the Gutsy /usr/share/apps/guidance/MonitorsDB database. The following line added to the file corrects the problem:

ViewSonic; ViewSonic VA702b; VSC231C; 30-82; 50-85; 1
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+sourc...bug/192899

Use mint. ubuntu is eww

I want to try ubuntu, though.

Also, don't I have to install it first to get to that file?

Code: (SELECT ALL CODE)

to

/usr/share/apps/guidance/MonitorsDB

or install and add it
