Security Analysts
Are you interested in learning the art of malware removal? If so, read this thread thoroughly and find out how!
![]() Group Mission The Security Analysts Team aims to equip its students with the knowledge to develop skills necessary to combat malware, especially now that it has become widespread on the Internet. Gone are the days of carefree surfing -- constant vigilance is a must to ensure one's safety. The team offers a course that is open to those who are interested in knowing how malware works, how computers get infected and more importantly, how these infections can be removed and prevented. The course will focus on the proper use of malware removal tools such as HijackThis, OldTimer's tools (OTL, OTM, OTS and the like) and various other powerful tools which will not be disclosed for security purposes.
In a nutshell, the student will learn how to analyse logs produced by the aforementioned tools. Analysis is crucial in the removal of malware -- that is why this is the main focus of the course. As log-reading skills develop, the student will proceed to learning how removal is done using specialised tools. The art of removing malware manually is also learnt in the process, however, since these tools are available, their use is highly encouraged for a speedier and more efficient removal. By the end of the course, the student is not expected to be content with what he learnt as the field of security and malware analysis is not enclosed to log-reading, malware removal and file analysis but it is a very broad scope that will concern more technical matters. “Tell me and I'll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I'll understand.”
Group Information Group Display Image: ![]() Group Name: SA Team | Group Leader: Styx, Griffin, Omm | Professors: Brandenx781, Deltron, infallible, RDCA If you would also like to join this group, please read on. Curriculum Training is free of charge. To give an overview of the course, it entails a lot of reading, research and dedication. This will comprise of four phases namely the succession from a novice to a junior, a senior and an expert. The student will be asked to complete sets of practice logs (or exercises) in each phase with increasing difficulty as the level gets higher. The final phase is to help real people. This will be done first with supervision and as the trainee becomes more and more experienced, graduation rites will be initiated. Helping out of appreciation to the forum is expected of each member. Teaching is discretionary.
To help the students learn efficiently, training is no longer self-paced as history shows quite a long list of people who were unable to finish the course due to too much freedom. Logs are expected to be posted and finished in a reasonable set time, which, you will come to know if you apply and get accepted. All materials are provided in the private sub forum including readings, tutorials and speeches necessary to learning. While the team recommends applicants to be quite knowledgeable when it comes to intermediate computer matters, anyone can learn the course given dedication and proper time management. I suggest you search both terms and see if you'll come up with "graduation rights" instead of "graduation rites". Click here for a credible reference. |

Yeah, I did research "rites" before hand, because I didn't know if it was a real word, and after reading out the sentence in both contexts, I found "rights" to be the correct term for me. But hey, not the first time I've been wrong. |
