Thoughts on Tablet Vs Laptop

Has any bought a tablet (pc) yet?

I have thought about it but dismal spec compared to a laptop of the same price, just makes me think that it will be about another 5 years before the tablets are correctly priced below laptops.

For example the same price laptop (Dell) has a bigger screen, faster processor, more RAM just to name a few.
Additionally, for the tablet you would need to buy a Bluetooth keyboard and something to protect the tablets screen.

In my opinion Laptops Will be superior to Tablet PCs for years to come, To me Tablets just feel like Oversized mobile phones more that a small PC.
For instance, With a Laptop Almost anything is possible. You are able to upgrade selected parts (RAM, Processor, etc..) as opposed to a tablet where you'd need to cash out on a whole new device for an upgrade.

Yeah... I paid $300 for my 3gb 17" 2.5ghz (intel graphics) 250gb hdd laptop. (Toshiba Sattelite) 3 years ago on a black friday sale. Nice thing is, for its price it is still decent.

Tablets are cool. But like you said. Too expensive. Plus im not much of a touch screen computer fan. I dont mind it for my phone/mp3 . But I would rather have mouse/keyboard instead of touch :3

I look at Tablets as overpriced toys. They are cool, but you aren't going to get much out of them. You will definitely get more bang for your buck by getting a laptop. I guess it all depends on what you want out of it.

Predator, man what sweet deal on that laptop!

However I was thinking about something to read from, some type of e-reader like Kindle. They are around $100 here in Australia.

At that price, so long as it does PDF's it would be really convenient.
Anybody using one of those?
