RE: Leap Motion
That looks pretty sick. It'd sure make navigating in Win8 a ton better.

The bit for First Person Shooters looks awesome.

RE: Leap Motion
The only thing I have against all this motion sensed stuff, is that it's more to showoff how advanced technology has become. But in a practical world... Who would want to stand there doing things for hours on end having to waste energy through the form of movements to do every simple little task?
Like if I just got back from work one day, and I wanted to check my email, why would I choose having to swing my arms around, over just lying down in my bed with a laptop and making smallest movements possible to use my mouse and keyboard? Voice activated things even annoy me sometimes because we're still not 100% accurate on that side of things. It's where specific voice recognition comes in, and you'd have to spend time to callibrate that. Then when somebody else comes along, it just doesn't work, unless perhaps there's multiple voice recognition profiles for a number of users. Sure it's cool, can't deny that, but just to move a window, how fast would it be to just click with a mouse or something like that, versus, grabbing the air like in the video, and then swinging your arms around. -One click (1/4 second) -Grab, hold (until system recognizes that you've grabbed something), then move arms (2-3 seconds) Productivity here??? Think realistically. ![]() Microsoft MVP .NET Programming - (2012 - Present) ®Crestron DMC-T Certified Automation Programmer Development Site: aceinfinity.net |

RE: Leap Motion
Well, I'm sure it's not meant for the office environment where productivity is key, or to be used for hours at a time. I think it's more of a toy to play with.

RE: Leap Motion
"Toy" lol, now that tileview is starting to remind me of lego building blocks, and I can see and sense the analogy i've just created in my mind here.
