RE: explorer.exe
Have you tried running system file checker or checking the event viewer?

RE: explorer.exe
Hi Easi, Welcome to Tech.Reboot.Pro.

Try This method should hopefully fix it:

1) Open your Registry Editor by typing "Regedit" in Windows >> Start >> Search field (RUN) >> Click Enter or Wait for "Regedit.exe to appear, and then double Click on it.

2) In Regedit Locate the Folder "WinLogon" in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon.
3) In the Winlogon section, Check if there is a VALUE with the name "Shell".

4) "Double click" with your left mouse button on the Value "Shell". And Make sure only 'explorer.exe' is the value of Shell, if you see something else then DELETE IT and add the value "explorer.exe and click OK

5) After your finished, Exit RegEdit and Restart your PC, And it should start you Explorer the next time!

Hope this will help you out
