General Board Rules [Please Read]
Last Updated: January 30, 2012
(Since these rules get updated from time to time, we will be sympathetic for any violators of rules within a week or so of a new rule.)


All users must accept and abide by the following rules when posting in these forums:

1. Warez talk is prohibited and frowned upon, to prevent legal issues, as well as any hacking related material.

  • You may not share or distribute any content involving a place to get something that has been illegally obtained or shared. You may hint at it, but you cannot provide explicit instruction to any member on the forum on how or where to obtain something warez related. If any post like that is found, the thread containing it will be closed and further support will be revoked. We encourage members to report posts such as these to help the forum administration out further.
  • You may not post any hacking related or malicious material on the forum or provide links to such material, as our rules now define it as being prohibited on our forum. This means no links to any forum at all with such content, with no exceptions. None of that needs to be mentioned here, regardless of where you came from or what background knowledge you may have. Users who deny this rule will be rewarded with a warning of 10% lasting a full week.


2. No flaming/harassment of other members. This rule also includes any trolling on the forum.

  • We discourage any activity of this nature in order to keep our forums civil and friendly. If you have an issue with a member either refer to a moderator, staff member, or an administrator to help or resolve it via PM.
  • "Trolling" is also highly discouraged here as it doesn't promote the user themselves as a professional member, and it doesn't help promote the forum as a professional community, which was one of the main goals for this forum's future. People who troll will most likely encounter members that may be offended by the content posted, and to solve this issue we are watching out for any such activity on the forum itself, and will take the needed action to prevent it as much as possible.


3. No spamming, or off topic posts in relation to the forum area being posted in.

  • We will not tolerate posts that are either irrelevant to a thread's subject or to a forum's subject. Before posting, please try to find the forum that is most fit for your thread. Mistakes may happen, but we've tried to keep each forum fairly straightforward for users to understand what each is about. Doing so will save time on our part to have to go through and move your thread to a more appropriate area of the forum.
  • Off topic posts will be rewarded an infraction by the definition of "Other Small Infraction" which will be 1 point for 1 day.
  • To not be considered a spammer, you have to make an effort to stay on topic, make detailed, and high quality posts, and you may not continually post within short intervals if your posts do not match those descriptions.


4. No adult material relevant posts or images/videos.

  • This forum has users that are below 18, therefore use discretion when posting material. If a picture does not contain nudity but still may offend people, be sure to put spoiler tags around it with a warning.
  • Nudity is prohibited.


5. This is an English only forum, please do not post in any other language.

  • Posts with any other language will be removed and you will be warned. Members whose first language is any other, apart from English will have to do their best to post in proper English, and members reading their posts will have to refrain from any rude comments or complaints.


6. Only one account per person is allowed.

  • If you are found with multiple accounts, the duplicates will be removed and you will be warned.


7. Keep your signature images small.

  • About 50kb max and 600x200 pixels, to prevent additional server load. Annoying animated gif images are not the greatest, but you may have a regular animated gif if you would like.


8. Warning levels for any activity disregarding these rules.

  • For each time you break one of these rules, an infraction will be issued of an average of a 25% warning level based on our warning guidelines. When you reach 100% warn level, you will be automatically banned from the forums. Warnings may be changed based on the severity of the actions taken by the member in offense, and not all warnings may be permanent. It's up to the moderator, staff member, or admin dealing with the issue to choose a reasonable warning for the user. More information can be found here.


9. Reputation abuse or any misuse is taken seriously on this forum.

  • You may not positive rep or neutral rep someone just because you like or dislike them, that would defeat the purpose of reputation. If any reputation misuse isn't noticed by us we will remove the reputation on a case by case basis, and warn the user who gave the rep as well. Please make sure that you have a valid excuse to report a reputation given before contacting us. We value our time on the forum just as much, if not more than a regular member would here.

10. No cross posting allowed on the forum.

  • Please do not cross post a thread, or post to more than one area of the forum. Duplicate topics will be removed to avoid any confusion, as we only need one thread on the same topic for a discussion through posts.

11. We do not allow any kind of advertisements here, they will be removed and result in warning for first offence, and a immediate ban on any following offences after given a warning (*Advertising non-competitive sites is permitted as long as the member meets the requirement of 100 posts). Related sites for advertising are strictly prohibited regardless and will result in a ban even if you're over 100 posts. Note: This includes ALL Advertisements on the forum, regardless of where they are displaying.

  • We do not allow people to post threads that advertise or solicit any services, products, or other forums or websites that we are in competition with. Explicit advertising and solicitating in signatures, avatars, posts, threads, private messages, or anywhere else on the forum is strictly prohibited here.
  • If you notice anything in you private messages regarding advertisements or spam, please report it to the administration to be dealt with.

12. Bumping a thread on the forum has conditions that make it acceptable. Bumping is only allowed after 24 hours of your last post in a specific thread.
  • To prevent spamming and double posting we allow double posting (bumping) after 24 hours if the last post was your post. If the last post wasn't your post you may only bump the post if you have information or anything high quality, meaning no: 'Thanks for contributing' or any other sort of thanks.

13. Images are only to be posted within reason, and are available for use only when it's necessary.
  • A rule to go by to decide whether it's necessary or not to post an image: If the image can be explained in words and it's not an image used for a tutorial or other informational purposes, then you should not have that image in your post. This is to further benefit the SEO of our forum to make sure that it maintains it's quality as it continues to develop.

14. Credit must be given to the original creator of a tutorial, application or any other type of content if you are not the original promoter of that content.
  • If you are posting content that is not your own work, then you must provide credit in the same post with the content to the original creator or author. It's always common courtesy to do so regardless if it was in the rules here or not.

15. You may not post any threads in the Group Recruitment area if you are not an official group leader. Keep to one thread per (official) group.
  • If you are not a group leader, you do not have the permission to post any threads within the group recruitment area. Any members who fail to follow this rule will get a warning of 3 points for 1 day.

16. We now have an implemented set of word filters, if you attempt to bypass any of the word filters in any way to make sure that a word is put into public display you'll receive a warning.
  • Word filters have been set to keep this a decent and professional forum for others. Attempt to trick the forum filter into displaying a filtered word or any alias of it will result in a temporary warning. Multiple warnings may be given for repeat offenders. All warnings on this level are worth 3 points for 3 days.

17. No impersonating of any members on the forum including staff, admin, or any regular member on the site.
  • Impersonating someone else on the forum will result in an immediate ban with no exceptions.

18. If there is a proper forum for a topic to go, please make sure it ends up in that topic instead of going into the Off Topic forum. And this rule goes without saying for every other forum as well, which must be posted in their correct forum locations. An effort on the users part is required to make this happen.
  • We do realize there are mistakes every once in a while, but making an effort to do this will reduce the amount of time taken away from staff to move your thread to it's right location.

19. Although we discourage any personal information being disclosed on our forum, you may do this, but it is up to your own discretion, and this forum takes no responsibility for any outcomes from your own decision to reveal personal information.
  • Please note that this does NOT include things like Phone Numbers or any other specifically personal details on the forum here, as they will be removed. You may NOT disclose the personal information of someone else on our forum, and doing so will result in serious consequences, this includes any kind of private messages, which are meant to stay private. Allowed content would be things such as emails, names, and personal images. If you have any questions regarding this, please feel free to contact the administration.

Note: These rules apply for all aspects of the forum, including forum threads, posts, and private messages. All Moderators, Global Moderators, and Administrators have the right to take action in deleting/moving/editing any post on the forum within valid justification. If you see any of the higher level users abusing their permissions, you must report them to an Administrator immediately, and action will be taken based on their misuse of forum access.

This thread will be updated accordingly, and the "Last Updated" part at the top of the thread will indicate to you whether any more changes have been done here since you last read it.

Good catch, i'll edit that now. there might be a rule i'm missing so maybe in the future we'll have 9 rules again lol.

lol, we'll be keeping this a fairly strict forum on being respectful to other members, we don't want to create a troll environment. Tech support should be helpful, not degrading or disrespectful in any way :)
